This talk focused on topics that collection managers need to consider.

I found the following resources useful:

  1. The Wikipedia list of copyright term lengths
  2. Cornell’s Guide to copyright
  3. Cornell’s older guide to copyright
  4. ALA Copyright tools
  5. Wikipedia article on copyright
  6. US Copyright Office Circulars

Other interesting things include:

  1. Database Rights — What happens when public domain audio is distributed, is that distributed form a database? Where are the limits on the definition of “Database”?
  2. The issue of database rights is interesting because TRIPS does require it to be added to national laws, but the USA doesn’t currently have it.
