Abstract
As an introduction to the content of my MA thesis, I presented a brief overview of how nouns are marked in the noun class system, how this marking can also shift the meaning of certain roots to indicate a change in size, shape or animacy, and how other noun phrase constituents are marked to agree with the noun class of the head noun.
