African Cloth

When I was in Nigeria, I was super-interested in textile cloth types and patterns. I wonder what language (vocabulary and speech register) is used to describe the various patterns, coths, and cuts used when making clothing. I still haven’t found very many linguistic or anthropological descriptions on this issue. This is an initial stab at trying to of descriptions exist in popular press and in the Academic literature about the language terms and usage related to African cloth. I have had several cloth outfits created. I would like to record the names and uses of cloth related to how it is created, sold, taylored, and worn in Nigeria.
